A theory that Thomas Greer is a child of Will Johnson adopted out to the Greer family.

Lieutenant's dates vary on his birth. It is figured he is listed as Hadley in the 1910 census and is the 15th child of William.

A 16th child named Johnson born 1911 is a possible child but he only appears in the enumeration of children in Kemper County.
