Wives: Abby, Phyllis and Adaline

Henry first married Abby who was born August of 1845 and they had 9 children. His second marriage was with Phyllis and they had one child together. In Henry's third marriage to Adline, a stepson named Oliver was a part of their household.

Joanna Johnson

was born about 1870 in Kemper County, Mississippi. She is presumed dead between 1890-1900 since her mother listed 9 children with 8 living in the 1900 census. Joanna is the only one not accounted for in that reporting. In addition all the other children have been found in the later school enumerations. An elder in the Johnson family vaguely recalls a story that Joanna was a sickly child that died with lung issues.

2. Liza Jane Johnson [Hampton]

was born about 1871 in Kemper County, Mississippi. She married John Henry Hampton. She is presumed to have died between 1901 - 1904 as her husband was remarried by 1904 and had additional children.

3. John Henry Johnson

was born February 18th, 1873 and died January 28, 1945.
His wife was Leola "Ola" Welch. Ola's siblings: Lucy, Lillian and Attison married three of Jane Johnson Turner's children.
Also, Ola's sisters Daisy and Millie married Jack and Hettie Brown Johnson's sons John E. and Mathew T. Johnson.

4. Augusta “Gussie” Johnson [Hathorn] [Cooper]

was born in June 1875 in Kemper County, Mississippi and died after 1940.
Gussie was married to Jim Hathorn ( 1879 - 1920 ) father of her children and secondly Charley Cooper thirty years her senior.

3M: Huey, Rural, Ruel, Hathorn ( 1910 - ) The given names appear differently on the census' and other documents.

Jimmie's son Berlyn Payne married his second cousin Melissa Wilson, granddaughter of Johnnie Johnson.

5. Florence Johnson [Peden]

was born July 10th, 1877 and died September 24th, 1976. She was married to Manson Clark Peden ( 1882 - 1974 ).

6. Josephus Cephus Johnson

was born in Kemper County, Mississippi in March of 1879. He died in 1917. His wife was Nannie Hathorn ( 1886(7) - 1934).
Nannie' brother Jim Hathorn married Joe's sister Gussie Johnson.
After Joe's death Nannie married his cousin Fred Johnson .
